Hello friends!
Happy June! I just wanted to share a quick update on my plans for In Spirit and Truth over the summer months.
I know that summer is a slower time for some people, but my next few months are crazy! I’ll be leaving for Rome in 11 days, where I’m giving a presentation about accompanying survivors at the International Safeguarding Conference at the Pontifical Gregorian University (and grabbing a few days of vacation afterwards with my wonderful husband). Then Awake’s annual retreat for survivors comes up in mid-July, which is the highlight of my year but also takes a lot of preparation. I’ll be at the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests conference the weekend after, and then I think I collapse into a puddle of exhaustion for a while. :)
Needless to say, I think it would be wise to slow down the pace of the blog for the next few months. So, you can expect a Reading Roundup late next week to cover May through mid-June and then another in early August to cover the time after that. There will be no Survivors’ Voices post in June, but I’ll have one for you in late July. We’ll see what happens for August!
In the meantime, if you would like to help cover the cost for an abuse survivor to attend Awake’s retreat, we would love your support! We are committed to providing this retreat at no cost to participants, and we have not yet collected all the funds we need to cover this retreat. If you want to help sponsor a survivor to attend, you can make a donation here and mention the retreat in the comment box:
Thank you for caring. See you again soon!
